MELAKA: Police are urging a 39-year-old witness in a drug-related court case to come forward.

       In a statement on Thursday (March 10), Melaka police contingent public affairs officer Asst Supt Suhaimi Ahmad said those who knew the whereabouts of Lavaniaya Thirumeani to notify her that she was an important witness in a drug-related court case.

       Her last known address was registered at No-256-C, Jalan Lorong Bandar Hilir.

       He said Lavaniaya was currently believed to be residing in Kuala Lumpur.

       "Melaka police are urging members of the public who know Lavaniaya to tell her that she is a witness in a court case at the Melaka High Court, under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," said ASP Suhaimi.

       He added that those with information on her whereabouts were urged to contact investigating officer Insp Noratika Marzan at 018-948 4205 or Sjn Muhamad Wari Abdul Sufian at 016-646 9754.
