YONG PENG: With unofficial results saying that Barisan’s Nasional has taken the Yong Peng seat, MCA’s Ling Tian Soon is dedicating the win to his father.
‘‘There is one person I want to thank – my father.
‘‘Pa, I did not let you down!’’ exclaimed Ling as he was surrounded by supporters at the Yong Peng MCA operations centre on Saturday (March 12).
Over a decade of groundwork bore fruit for Ling, who won the seat with a handsome majority.

His rival, Alan Tee from Pakatan garnered 7,028 votes and Perikatan Nasional’s Susan Wong had 1,601 votes.
Calling it ‘‘a victory for all’’, Ling said he would continue to serve the people.
