PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 24,241 new Covid-19 infections on Friday (March 18), bringing the total number of infections to 3,951,678 since the pandemic began, says the Health Ministry.
It also said that 26,615 Covid-19 patients recovered on Friday, bringing the total number of recoveries in Malaysia to 3,623,068 cases since the pandemic began.
There are currently 294,366 active cases in the country, with 284,592 or 96.7% observing home quarantine and 1,791 or 0.6% admitted to low-risk quarantine and treatment facilities.
A total of 7,600 Covid-19 patients are currently seeking treatment at hospitals nationwide, with 383 warded in intensive care units (ICU). A total of 222 of the ICU admissions require ventilator support while the remaining 161 do not.
