A man was fatally shot Friday afternoon in Prince George’s County, the county police said.

       He was found with a gunshot wound about 5:40 p.m. in the 3400 block of Walters Lane in the District Heights area, the police said. Police went there after a shooting was reported.

       The wounded man was taken to a hospital where he died a little less than two hours later, according to police.

       The shooting was under investigation Friday night. No information was released about any suspect or motive, and the man’s name was not immediately released.

       The site of the shooting appeared to be a residential street near the edge of a commercial area just south of Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 4).
