SIBU: Sarawak recorded four deaths and 852 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (March 20).
The state disaster management committee said in a statement that one death was reported in Bintulu on March 16, followed by one each in Sibu and Mukah on March 17, and one more case in Serian on March 18.
The victims were aged between 60 and 82, and comprised three men and a woman.
All of them had comorbidities such as high blood pressure, gout, diabetes, kidney, heart failure and dyslipidemia, the statement added.
"Of the 852 cases, 844 were in Category 1 and 2 while the rest were in Category 3, 4 and 5," it said.
Two districts which recorded cases in the triple digits were Kuching (305) and Miri (147), while those with double-digit cases included Sibu (86), Bintulu (82), Serian (43), Samarahan (42), Sarikei (20), Sri Aman (19) and Bau (10).
Cumulatively, the number of cases in the state since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic stands at 287,847.
