KOTA KINABALU: An elderly woman, who was reported missing for four days in forested areas in interior Tambunan district, was found safe by rescuers.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Services Department spokesman said the 63-year-old woman was found within an oil palm plantation area at about 2.20pm Sunday (March 20) by search and rescue teams comprising firemen, policemen, Civil Defence Force (Rela) and local villagers.
She was found about 1.5km from her house.
He said the woman was immediately sent to the hospital for medical examination by the police.
The missing woman, Bibia Angkangon, was reported missing by family members at 8.20pm on Saturday (March 19) after they realised she was missing since 11am on Thursday (March 17).
She had gone to collect jungle produce near her village.
