While Apple usually does a good job of promoting its cool new features, sometimes they slide under the radar.
Software engineer Jordan Morgan tweeted that too many third party apps on iOS devices sleep on the fact there’s a feature to bulk select items using a two-finger hand gesture.
In a video, he shows viewers that by placing his index and middle finger on the device’s screen and pulling them downwards, he is able to select multiple emails instantly instead of having to click on them one by one.
The gesture is somewhat similar to using a mouse to drag and select several files on a desktop.
The video tweet, which had been viewed over 31,000 times so far, received many responses ranging from an exploding head emoji to surprise that such a feature existed, while other users calling on third party apps to implement it too.
The gesture should work with most native iOS apps like iMessage and Notes, which ought to make bulk deleting spam texts or older items less of a bother on mobile.
