KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 22,326 cases, or 99.27%, of the 22,491 new Covid-19 infections reported on Wednesday (March 23) involved Categories One and Two, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said only 165 cases, or 0.73%, reported on Wednesday were in Categories Three, Four and Five.
"There were 10,601 cases in Category One while Category Two totaled 11,725 ??cases.
"A total of 71 cases, or 0.31%, were in Category Three, 44 cases (0.20%) in Category Four and 50 cases (0.22%) in Category Five," he said in a statement Thursday (March 24).
According to Dr Noor Hisham, no new Covid-19 clusters were reported Wednesday while 273 clusters were still active to date.
He said the infectivity rate (Rt) in the country was at 0.90 on Wednesday, with Selangor recording the highest value at 1.03 while the lowest value was recorded in Sabah at 0.64.
He said five states showed more than 50% usage of intensive care unit (ICU) beds with the highest in Putrajaya at 100%, followed by Kuala Lumpur (67%), Johor (59%), Selangor (57%) and Kelantan (52%). - Bernama
