A LIDL shopper has claimed she bit into a shard of glass that was hidden inside a fruit and nut bar.
Rebecca Miah, from Bexleyheath, south London, bought a pack of the supermarket’s cacao and orange raw fruit and but bars when she did her weekly shop on Saturday.

She said she cut her mouth after biting into a piece of glass which was inside the bar.
Her husband Mak posted pictures on Facebook of his wife holding the chewed remains of the bar in her hand, with the piece of glass next to it.
He said they had contacted Lidl, who had apologised and said they would investigate the incident.
Mak told MyLondon: "We did our weekly shop yesterday.

"Rebecca had one of the bars and bit into something hard and spat it out to find that piece of glass.
"After contacting Lidl via Facebook they only wanted our email address and postal address and said they will be in contact soon.
“They did not ask for a phone number to discuss, so I posted on a local Facebook group to make others aware so no one has a nasty surprise or injury.

Messages from Lidl and seen by the news outlet, show the supermarket apologising to the couple and requesting information about the product’s bar code, best before date and any lot or batch numbers.

They were also told by the representative that a quality assurance team would be investigating and said a response could be expected within seven working days.
