AMMAN, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The visiting Saudi Arabian minister of transport and logistic services said on Monday that Saudi Arabia will open a new rail line that reaches the Jordanian border in a few days, state-run Petra news agency reported.

       The new railway will facilitate passenger, cargo and vehicle movement between the two countries, Saleh Al-Jaseer told a meeting organized by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC).

       Hailing Saudi Arabia one of Jordan's biggest commercial partners, Jordanian Industry, Trade and Supply Minister Yousef Shamali noted the strategic relations between the two countries at all levels.

       JCC President Nael Kabariti referred to transport as a main pillar of economic development, calling for unifying the laws that regulate the two countries' transport systems to improve commercial exchange.

       Kabariti also highlighted the need for Jordan and Saudi Arabia to reach an agreement on storage logistics to strengthen food security.
