1. Scotland Yard ready to issue first ‘partygate’ fines
Scotland Yard is expected to issue the first fines over “partygate” imminently, after concluding Covid laws were broken at the heart of government.

Roman Abramovich was the suspected victim of poisoning while trying to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine earlier this month, it was claimed on Monday night.

Men are being asked if they are pregnant before undergoing scans at NHS trusts in England, it has emerged.
Male cancer patients and those having X-Rays and MRI scans are being asked if they could be expecting after the Government removed the word “female” from the law governing the medical procedures and replaced it with “individuals”. Read the full story.
4. Academy Awards launches ‘formal investigation’ into Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars
Will Smith has been condemned by the body that hands out the Oscars as it launched a formal review into the actor for slapping comedian Chris Rock across the face during the ceremony.
Smith strode on stage during the televised awards show on Sunday night and struck Rock in the face over a joke the comedian made about his wife. Read the full story.
5. Irate mother who nudged Insulate Britain protesters with Range Rover faces driving ban
A mother who used her Range Rover to nudge Insulate Britain protesters out of the road during the school run is facing a ban after admitting dangerous driving.
Sherrilyn Speid, 35, from Grays, Essex, became frustrated after she was caught up in road chaos on the M25 in October last year. The single mother, who started her own food business during lockdown, had been on the school run with her 11-year-old son when Insulate Britain demonstrators sat down in the road at junction 31 of the London orbital near the Dartford Crossing.
