PORT DICKSON: Khairy Jamaluddin has requested that the Dewan Negara Speaker to allow a motion for MySejahtera matters to be debated on Thursday (March 31).
The Health Minister said there were many issues which could lead to a misunderstanding, Sinar Harian reported.
He said this in response to a statement by Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan that the government must explain the alleged involvement of MySJ Sdn Bhd in the acquisition of MySejahtera.
"I have nothing to hide. They raised the matter because they didn’t know or have yet to read everything,” Khairy said during a working visit to Hospital Port Dickson.
Khairy acknowledged the public’s concerns that their personal data might be abused and reassured that the matter will be answered in the Senate sitting.
He said the appointment of KPISoft Sdn Bhd to manage the MySejahtera application was made by the National Security Council (NSC) at the beginning of the pandemic.
"I understand that the NSC has invited several companies to present their application. NSC chose KPISoft which has been rebranded to Entomo Malaysia Bhd and given licence to MySJ Sdn Bhd.
“So we’ve been negotiating with the companies that provide the services from the very beginning because they’re the ones who developed the platform,” he said.
Khairy said the company’s appointment is currently in the process of being turned into an official contract.
On a separate issue, Khairy said no extension will be given to Sinovac primary recipients who failed to get their booster dose before April 1.
"There is no extension. Tomorrow (Wednesday), I will make some amendments to the standard operating procedures," he said.
