PUTRAJAYA: Sinovac vaccine recipients and those above 60 who have not received booster shots will lose their fully vaccinated status on April 1, but they will be allowed to dine-in at eateries and enter malls, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Health Minister said those who had at least completed their primer doses - two doses for vaccines like Pfizer, Astrazeneca and Sinovac - were allowed to dine-in, enter buildings or visit places of worship.
However, Khairy warned that this should not mean that Sinovac recipients and those above 60 should not get their booster shots.
"Data shows that in three to five months after receiving two doses of Pfizer, the protection level towards Covid-19 goes down by 20%. For recipients of two Sinovac doses, the protection goes down by 48%.
"Booster shots will increase one's antibody levels and help reduce the risk of severe Covid-19 infection.
"Therefore, the Health Ministry advises those who have not received their booster shots to do so as soon as possible," said Khairy in a statement Wednesday (March 30).
