SEREMBAN: A total of 4,050 Negri Sembilan government employees will receive a half-month's pay or a minimum RM1,000 cash aid in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (pic).

       The Mentri Besar said the exercise was expected to cost the state government some RM6mil.

       He said another 1,669 employees in local councils and 207 in statutory bodies would also receive the cash assistance.

       "So a total of 5,926 individuals will get the cash aid.

       "This assistance is also to show our gratitude to these employees for their contributions," he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting at Wisma Negri here.

       He said the cash would be banked in with their salaries on April 15.

       Aminuddin expressed hope that the aid would reduce the financial burden of the state employees and motivate them to continue to give their best.

       On Tuesday (April 5), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said all Federal Government employees on Grade 56 and below would get a RM500 assistance for Hari Raya.

       The payment will be credited on April 25 together with their April salary.

       Pensioners will also receive a special cash incentive of RM250.
