IPOH: The family members of a 67-year-old man are looking for him as he has not returned home since Saturday (April 9).
Low Tat Yee, who was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black slacks and slippers, left his home in Ipoh Garden here at 7.30am that day.
His family members lodged a police report and posted about his disappearance on social media but as at 1pm today, Low had yet to be found.
Low’s son Eugene said his father went out as usual on Saturday morning.
“My dad has a morning routine where he goes out, eats breakfast and comes back by about noon.
“I saw him before he went out because I woke up early too.
“He did not have a change of clothes, and didn't bring along a mobile phone charger.
“Normally, he would be back by about 1pm, but on Saturday, he didn't return.
“My father cannot walk long distances as he is slightly bowlegged.
“I tried calling him at 3pm but the call went straight to voicemail.
“It was the same the next day,” he said.
The family lodged a police report on Sunday (April 10) after Low had been missing for 24 hours.
“At 2pm on April 10, I managed to get through to his phone.
“He answered and only said one word, 'Hello'. I can confirm that it was his voice.
“However, he did not say anything else, and ended the call.
“Since then, his phone rings, but the calls are rejected after a single ring,” he said.
Eugene added that it was unlikely that someone would have stolen it as his father used a very old make of mobile phone.
