SEPANG: Twelve men who were tricked and forced to work for scam syndicates in Cambodia have finally come home.
The twelve arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) at around 8.10am on Tuesday (Apr 12) via a flight from Cambodia.
Foreign Affairs Ministry Deputy Secretary General of Bilateral Affairs Datuk Amran Mohamed Zin said initially 15 men and one woman were supposed to come back on Tuesday but four of them tested positive for Covid-19.
"The three men and a woman are under quarantine at Phnom Penh for seven days," he told reporters at KLIA2 on Tuesday.
Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hasan said they would take statements from the 12 individuals before allowing them to leave.
"They will be allowed to go home to their loved ones and family members who are anxiously waiting for them.
"We only need to record their statements to facilitate further investigations," he said.
