KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s crude palm oil (CPO) stocks fell to 764,079 tonnes in March 2022, contracting 2.60% or 20,409 tonnes from 784,488 tonnes in February 2022, said the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Bernama reported.
MPOB in a statement said total palm oil inventory declined 2.99% month-on-month (m-o-m) to 1.47 million tonnes from 1.51 million tonnes, with processed palm oil inventory dipping 3.41% to 708,731 tonnes from 733,750 tonnes previously.
CPO production, meanwhile, increased 24.07% to 1.41 million tonnes in March 2022 compared with 1.13 million tonnes in February 2022.
Palm kernel output rose 26.89% m-o-m to 359,165 tonnes versus 283,046 tonnes, and crude palm kernel oil production was 26.86% higher at 160,693 tonnes compared with 126,669 tonnes previously.
MPOB said palm oil exports improved 14.14% to 1.26 million tonnes in March 2022 from 1.1 million tonnes in the preceding month, while palm kernel oil exports gained 22.04% to 69,221 tonnes compared with 56,720 tonnes previously.
Oleochemical exports strengthened 3.22% to 235,625 tonnes from 228,272 tonnes in the previous month, while biodiesel exports eased 64.6% to 15,853 tonnes from 44,777 tonnes previously. - Bernama
