JOHOR BARU: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has been appointed as a member of the Umno supreme council, effective immediately.

       Prior to the appointment, Onn Hafiz did not hold any state or national posts and was only the vice-chairman of the Simpang Renggam Umno division.

       He posted several photographs of him taking his oath following his appointment to Umno’s supreme council on his personal Facebook on Thursday (April 14) night.

       In the post, Onn Hafiz thanked Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the party’s supreme council members and top leadership for the appointment.

       “God willing, I will bear this responsibility with full trust.

       “Umno then, now and forever,” he wrote.
