KUALA LUMPUR: Six suspects were nabbed and almost RM400,000 worth of drugs seized in police raids at condominiums and other locations in the Klang Valley.
City Narcotic Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Jasmirol Jamaluddin said the raids were carried out on April 14 and 15 in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
“We launched the first raid at 9.05pm last Thursday at a condominium along Jalan Putramas and arrested two men and a woman.
“We also seized 1kg of syabu and 365g of ketamin,” he told reporters yesterday.
He said a subsequent raid was carried out at another condominium unit along Jalan Cendana, where 54g of syabu and 5,150 Erimin 5 pills were seized.
Then police conducted a raid at Taman Petaling Utama in Petaling Jaya and arrested another three men while seizing 4.5kg of heroin.
“We later raided a condominium unit in the same area and seized 10.8kg of ganja, 2.1kg of heroin, 2.1kg of syabu and 3,000 Erimin 5 pills.
“We raided another condominium at Taman Petaling and seized 1.7kg heroin and 11g of ganja,” he said.
ACP Jasmirol said the six detainees were aged between 20 and 45 and investigations revealed that the group was led by a 43-year-old suspect, who was among those nabbed.
“We believe the group has been active for at least three months.
“The syndicate got their supply from a drug distribution ring in the Klang Valley.
“They had regular customers and sold the drugs at entertainment outlets, budget hotels as well as certain locations in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
He added that the drugs were worth at least RM386,757.
“We also seized RM2,780 cash during these raids.”
He said the six suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist further investigations.
