KUALA LUMPUR: The foreign inflow into Bursa Malaysia finally came to halt in the previous week as offshore investors turned net sellers to the tune of RM60.11mil.
According to MIDF Research data, foreign investors were net buyers for 12 out of the first 15 weeks of 2022, resulting in a year-to-date net inflow of RM6.91bil.
In the week ended April 15, foreign investors were net buyers on Monday with RM440,000 net inflow before turning net sellers on Tuesday with net sales of RM22.29mil.
The largest net outflow recorded for the week was on Thursday with RM41.83mil net sold.
On Friday, foreign investors were net buyers to the tune of RM12.67mil.
Meanwhile, local retailers were net buyers on all days of the past week with the largest net inflow of RM52.06mil on Monday.
Local institutions went the other direction, selling Bursa Malaysia equities on all days of the week except for Thursday.
The largest net outflow by local institutions was on Monday with RM52.5mil in net sales.
Year-to-date, local institutions have been net sellers to the tune of RM7.5bil while local retailers have been net buyers of RM588.2mil.
