PETALING JAYA: With the aim to safeguard and nurture the social and mental well-being of underpriviledged childred, One World Hotel employees spent a fun-filled evening with 40 children from Pusat Jagaan Telaga Kasih Nur Muhammad.
They were also treated to a lavish and bountiful “Imbasan Nostalgia” buffet dinner in One World Hotel’s Imperial Ballroom.
The “Majlis Rantaian Kasih” programme is part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibilities (CSR) efforts where they aimed to play a pivotal role in supporting underprivileged children worldwide that has been significantly impacted by the Covid?19 pandemic.
The hotel’s department heads spent quality time with the children from the charity home in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya. that houses foster children, single mothers and orphans.
One World Hotel general manager Alvin Koh said, “The hotel recognises the magnitude role it plays when a child is mentally healthy. A mentally healthy child tends to be happier, show greater motivation to learn and generally have a more positive attitude in life.”
Everyone present was treated to a reminiscent of a kampung feast featuring over 80 heritage
and traditional cuisines on its extensive menu. From bubur lambuk to an assorted varieties of lemang and a variety of luscious cakes, traditional kuihs and ice cream, the children were spoiled for choice with endless food options from the local and international cuisine.
The event concluded with the distribution of school bags complete with colouring and stationery kits from One World Hotel.
Meanwhile, Benns Chocolate Factory Sdn Bhd sponsored Lego-shaped flavoured chocolates to the children.
