PUTRAJAYA: A woman and her child died after the car they were travelling in crashed into a divider and overturned.

       Putrajaya OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the accident occurred at around 2.45pm on Saturday (April 30).

       "Investigations revealed that the car was driven by a 33-year-old man along Persiaran Timur from Kajang heading towards Pinggiran Putra.

       "He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the water barrier on the left side of the road," he said when contacted.

       He said police suspect the driver dozed off on the wheel.

       "He escaped injuries but his 32-year-old wife and two-year-old son died in the crash."

       He said the case has been classified as reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.
