       VETERAN actress Aripah Damanhuri, 73, who was warded for a suspected lung infection at Hospital Kuala Lumpur , has shown signs of improvement.

       BH Online quoted her son Nurpais Ismail, 42, as saying that she had been responding well to treatment and was now able to speak, although she was experiencing shortness of breath.

       “Maybe within this week, she will be shifted to a normal ward but for now, she is still in the ICU,” he said.

       It was reported earlier that Aripah was put into a medically induced coma at the hospital on April 23 after she was suspected to have a lung infection.

       On May 1, Nurpais said his mother’s condition had improved and she had been hooked up to a normal ventilator.

       There might be others who are avoiding quarantine orders as this would limit travel options, he added.

       Dr Hanafiah advised those who refused to report their positive status to remain at home, especially during the festive season.
