KUALA LUMPUR: The son of a Member of Parliament from Melaka is alleged to have punched and spat on a 49-year-old man during an argument.

A news portal reported that the incident apparently occurred because the man had been rude to the alleged perpetrator's mother.

The incident took place at a house in Pernu, Melaka, on May 2.

The portal said the reported victim was contacted by the MP's son and summoned to his house at 12.33am on May 2.

Quoting sources, it reported that the victim was said to have been rude to the man's mother at a grilled fish stall in Umbai, Melaka.

“The victim who did not suspect anything went to the man's house in Pernu.

"While at the home, there was an argument and the man (the MP's son) became angry and punched the victim on the head," the portal said.

The MP's son was also reported to have head-butted the victim, injuring his nose, before spitting in his face.

The portal said that after the incident, the victim asked to meet with the man's mother to confirm that he was in the wrong, only to be chased out of the house.

According to the sources, the victim, who works as a manager, lodged a report at the Kandang Police Station at 12.36am on Friday (May 6).

The victim made the report because he was worried for his safety and that of his family members, the portal said.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit confirmed receiving the report but declined to comment further.
