       KUWAIT CITY, May 16: According to informed sources from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the total number of bags of cement and subsidized steel provided by the ministry to citizens during the year 2021 amounted to about 12.174 million bags of cement, with a total value of support for the Kuwait Supply Company and Kuwait Cement Company amounting to about KD 7.9 million, and 331,900 tons of steel, with a total support value of KD 44.5 million, reports Al-Anba daily.

       They explained that about 7,227 citizens benefited from the bags of cement provided by the ministry to citizens to build or renovate their houses, and 7,102 citizens benefited from subsidized steel during the past year. The demand for steel and cement reached its peak in the months of August and September.

       The month of August witnessed the disbursement of 1.5 million bags of cement for 814 citizens, and 39,000 tons of steel to 794 citizens. The month of September saw the disbursement of two million bags of cement for 900 citizens, and 43,000 tons of steel for 881 beneficiaries. February witnessed the lowest demand for cement and subsidized steel, as the total number of cement bags that were disbursed to citizens in February was 284,000 bags for about 166 citizens, and the amount of subsidized steel was 6,400 tons for 147 citizens
