The Metropolitan Police has concluded their investigation into partygate, paving the way for the Sue Gray report to be released.

The force said it had handed out a total of 126 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) during its inquiries into alleged breaches of Covid regulations at Downing Street and Whitehall.

Boris Johnson will face no further action, Downing Street has said, with the Prime Minister receiving no additional fines after he was handed one for an event on his 56th birthday.

The Prime Minister's wife Carrie Johnson has also received confirmation she faces no further action.

The Prime Minister's official spokesman said: "The Met has confirmed that they are taking no further action with regards to the Prime Minister."

The conclusion of Operation Hillman into partygate allegations paves the way for the publication of senior civil servant Sue Gray's inquiry.

Labour called for the full publication of the Sue Gray inquiry into partygate after Scotland Yard included its investigation.

Deputy leader Angela Rayner said: "Industrial scale rule breaking has taken place at the heart of Boris Johnson's Downing Street.

"We must now urgently see the Sue Gray report published in full. It's time for the Prime Minister to stop hiding.

"While the British people sacrificed so much, Boris Johnson's Downing Street broke the rules at record-breaking scale. Britain deserves better."

The Met announced it would not be "releasing or confirming the identity of anyone involved in this investigation" or "providing further details" of its findings.

Scotland Yard said 35 men received a total of 53 FPNs and 48 women received a total of 73.

Scotland Yard said while 126 referrals had been issued, some people received multiple fines, with 28 individuals getting between two and five Fixed Penalty Notices.

The Met refused to say how many people had received five fines because they feared it might lead to the person being identified.

The multiple fines were not doubled up like they were for some members of the public.

They Met said it would have been unfair because as this was a retrospective investigation they did not have the opportunity to engage with people and persuade them to change their ways

Out of the 126 fines handed out by the Met 97 have been paid in full and none of the recipients are outside of the 28 day time limit.

Some of the fines were issued Thursday morning and so the recipients may not have yet been informed.

The investigation, which began on January 25, involved a team of 12 detectives and cost a total of £460,000.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Helen Ball said: "It was important to investigate in the way that we have and it was important to do it in a really thorough way, which is what we have done and the outcomes show that that investigation needed to happen."

She added: "We made sure after a really thorough investigation that clear evidence existed of a breach."
