KOTA KINABALU: A man was left in shock but unscathed when his car caught fire while he was driving home late Thursday (May 19) night.
It is learnt that the motorist managed to pull over before getting out of the burning car at around 11pm along the Kayu Madang road in Telipok near here.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Misran Bisara said they received a call at 11.16pm and a team was sent to the scene.
“Two fire hoses were used to put out the fire. The flames were brought under control at about 11.45pm before the fire was extinguished,” he said in a statement on Friday (May 20).
He said operations ceased at 12.02am after firefighters made sure there was no danger of further combustion.
