KOTA TINGGI: A waterspout is said to have appeared near Pengerang here at about 6pm on Monday (May 23) evening.

       Videos and photos of the waterspout have gone viral on social media, with some users claiming that they witnessed the incident.

       However, Sebana Cove Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Khairul Dahari said that there had been no official report made about the phenomena.

       "We know that there was a thunderstorm between 8pm and 11pm on Monday but there were no reports about a waterspout. Either way, we will be on standby," he said.

       Meanwhile, Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said that the police also had yet to receive any report on the matter.
