Samsung’s latest Neo QLED 8K TV range promises to raise the bar on the large screen viewing experience.
According to the company, the TVs are equipped with the Neural Quantum Processor 8K with AI capabilities to analyse details in content and enhance picture quality for optimal viewing. The technology also powers a feature called Real Depth Enhancer, which Samsung claims can scan the screen and enhance the main object so that it stands out from the background.
Along with the Quantum Mini LEDs, the South Korean tech giant claims its Shape Adaptive Light Control feature will be able to produce precise and measured lighting on the screen.
Additionally, Samsung says its new 2022 QLED TV range has received ‘Pantone Validated’ certification from the global authority on colour, meaning the models can reportedly reproduce more than 2,000 colours plus the newly added 110 skin tone shades found in Pantone’s guidelines.
The TVs also come with the new EyeComfort Mode, a feature using AI technology which the company says is capable of adjusting the brightness and colour temperature on the screen based on the lighting situation in the room.
In terms of sound, the flagship QN900B models come with 90W 6.2.4 channel audio system with new top channel speakers and Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound Pro. The company says its Neural Quantum Processor 8K is also capable of analysing what is on screen in real time so that its Adaptive Sound features can track and move between speakers to match the movement on screen.
Other features include a new Smart Hub, a user interface powered by Tizen which allows users to organise their entertainment options into video on demand, streaming and more. It can also make content recommendations for users based on their viewing experience.
The new TV lineup also comes with features such as four HMDI 2.1 supporting ports (specification of ports may vary by product) , Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro 4K 144hz gaming and Super Ultrawide GameView for a more immersive gaming experience. The company is also partnering with Nifty Gateway for users to explore and display NFT collections on screen.
The 2022 Neo QLED 8K TVs are available in seven models – the 55in QN700B model (RM12,499); the 65in, 75in and 85in QN800B models (priced at RM18,999, RM24,999 and RM33,999 respectively) and the flagship QN900B models in 65in, 75in and 85in sizes (RM23,999, RM34,999 and RM49,999 respectively).
