SUBANG JAYA: Fire and Rescue Department personnel extricated a lorry driver after he was pinned in his vehicle in an accident along the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) here.
A spokesperson from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said they received a distress call at around 3am on Thursday (June 9).
"We dispatched six firemen and a fire engine from the Subang Fire Station to the scene. They arrived at around 3.20am and found that the incident involved a container truck and a three ton lorry," he said when contacted.
He added that the lorry driver was pinned behind the wheel and suffered serious injuries.
"The driver was extricated and sent to a nearby hospital for further treatment," he said.
Meanwhile, at around the same time, a team from the Bukit Sentosa Fire Station was dispatched to another accident along Jalan Besar Sungai Choh.
The spokesperson said they received a call about the incident and arrived at the scene at around 2.27am.
"A car had crashed into the back of a garbage truck. The driver, in his 40s, was pinned in his vehicle," said the spokesperson, adding that he was extricated and handed over to medical personnel.
The spokesperson said the driver was believed to have suffered a stroke during the incident.
