KUALA LUMPUR: Four men have been arrested following a TikTok video showing foreigners gathering outside at Batu Caves in support of politicians from India who had recently insulted Prophet Muhammad.
Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said the men aged 26 and 27 were arrested by the Bukit Aman Special Investigations Unit (D5) with the assistance of the North Klang police on Thursday (June 16).
"They were arrested at Meru.
"We also seized the devices used to record and upload the video which went viral," he said in a statement on Thursday.
He said investigations would be carried out under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act for making statements with seditious tendencies and Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for making statements which could cause public unrest.
"We are also investigating the case under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for misuse of network facilities.
"We are now working to identify the suspects still at large," he said, urging those involved in the video to come forward to assist in investigations.
He also urged the public to channel any information on the case to the Special Investigations Unit at 03-2266 6071.
