A teenager was killed and a D.C. police officer and two other people were shot Sunday night in Northwest Washington amid the aftermath of a concert, the police said.
The male teenager was apparently 15 years old, D.C. police chief Robert Contee said at a news briefing near 14th and U Streets NW, where the gunfire broke out.

The officer was struck in a leg, police indicated. They said the other two shot were being treated at hospitals.
Exactly what led to the gunfire was not immediately clear.
But based on initial accounts, it apparently followed a concert that was linked to the District’s celebration of Juneteenth.
It had been advertised as running from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. but Contee said that police had moved to shut it down early.
The gunfire at 14th and U Streets was one of several separate shooting incidents in the city Sunday afternoon and evening.
In one of them, a teenage girl was killed in the 4400 block of Third Street SE
