A BOY has been rushed to hospital with injuries after being hit by a police car.

       The 16-year-old was riding his motorbike when it smashed into the patrol vehicle in Fairfield Hill, Bramley, Leeds.

       An officer reported being involved in a collision with a bike around 10am on Wednesday.

       Shortly after, the teen was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

       He suffered a leg injury which is not thought to be life-threatening.

       West Yorkshire Police said the Independent Office for Police Conduct has been told about the incident.

       A spokesperson for force said: "At 10.02am [on Wednesday], a neighbourhood policing team officer in a marked police vehicle reported being involved in a collision with a motorbike in Fairfield Hill, Bramley.

       "The rider of the motorcycle, a 16-year-old male, received an injury to his leg.

       "He was taken to hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not life threatening.

       "A scene and road closure were put in place for collision investigation work.
