POLICE officers have been swarmed by a mob and attacked with a hammer while trying to help a stabbing victim.
A 31-year-old man was injured in the knife attack before an angry crowd set upon cops in Cranford, West London, yesterday evening.

One officer was struck by a hammer-wielding thug, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
He suffered a broken arm and was hospitalised, but has since been discharged.
The stabbing victim is receiving treatment for a slash wound, which is not believed to be life threatening.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

A TikTok video from the scene showed a number of police cars parked near Cranford Community College with blue lights flashing.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 8.15pm on Saturday, July 1 to reports of a stabbing close to High Street in Cranford.
"Officers attended and found a 31-year-old man with a slash wound. Whilst attempting to treat the man, officers were confronted by a large group of people.
"One officer was injured after being struck with a hammer. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for a broken arm."
