PETALING JAYA: Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor shot back against those who attacked him for allegedly insulting Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

       The Jeneri MP said that Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari should not be a spin-master and that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should repent and quit politics for throwing allegations that he had insulted the wisdom of Selangor Sultan.

       Muhammad Sanusi said that he did not say anything against the Selangor Sultan.

       The Kedah MB was responding to police reports being filed against him by Pakatan Harapan in Shah Alam today (July 13) for allegedly insulting the Selangor Ruler.

       On July 13, Ahmad Zahid said that Sanusi should repent and not use all things under the sun as his campaign tools.

       “I would also like to inform Amirudin not to spin my words as he would have nothing to gain by doing so.

       “In my speech, I was explaining the greatness of the Kedah sultanate's history when they fought off the British on the issue of the separation of Penang. I did not touch on His Highness Sultan Selangor at all.

       “My political fight in these state elections is with Pakatan and Barisan Nasional and it so happened that I have been trading barbs with the Selangor Mentri Besar.

       “If he wants to degrade and insult me in public, and say he would teach me how to develop Kedah, I too can give my reply.

       “In fact, the state had been developed for decades, even in the 1970s before he became the MB.

       “Amirudin, however, now wants to claim that he was the one who cleverly developed Selangor. Selangor is developed as the capital city Kuala Lumpur is right on its doorstep, not because Amirudin is smart.”

       In a recent programme in Selangor, Sanusi was alleged to have criticised the Sultan of Selangor for appointing Amirudin as its Mentri Besar.
