RESIDENTS of a picturesque seaside town say it is like living in World War III as they battle "unacceptable" conditions.

Locals of Rosslare Strand, Ireland, claim that a morning rush of delivery trucks, as well as low water pressure and excessive litter, are making their lives hell.

They have now demanded that the local council take action to address the problems.

One even said that the noise and commotion turns the sleepy coastal locale into "World War III".

Another complained that their water pressure is so weak that they can't even shower, while a third said that the water was a "yellowy brown" colour when it comes through their taps.

Speaking at a meeting of the Rosslare Development Association, residents slammed the "unacceptable" state of affairs.

Proposed changes included stricter parking enforcement to stop pavement parking, a Zebra crossing outside the local supermarket and extending footpaths to improve access for wheelchair users and people with pushchairs.

Councillor Ger Garthy said that the council are working hard to fix the problems, but did not have sufficient funding and that the current by-laws do not allow for better parking and traffic control.

But this did not satisfy locals, one of whom disputed the funding argument, claiming that the country is "awash with money".

But Councillor Garthy added that the authority are due to introduce a five-year strategic plan to address the complaints.

It comes after residents of another seaside town lashed out as a new council-backed attraction, which they claim has ruined a new housing development.

Meanwhile, a study revealed the 50 worst places to live in England, with a new town taking the top spot.
