       A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in the Arlandria neighborhood of Alexandria on Monday, police said.

       Alexandria police did not immediately identify the victim and said the circumstances of the shooting were under investigation. The victim’s family was with him at the hospital when he was pronounced dead from his injuries, a police spokeswoman said.

       Police blocked traffic around the 800 block of W. Glebe Road, where the shooting took place before noon on Monday.

       In a tweet, the Alexandria Police Department said “anyone who has any information in today’s fatal shooting … can directly upload any videos, audio recordings, or other digital information” to an online portal. Information can be submitted anonymously, a police spokeswoman said.
