Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rumours discussed by Schofield
With their five-year marriage reportedly not in a good place, Prince Harry could be welcomed back by Britons if he were to split from his wife, Meghan Markle.
According to a former friend of the Duchess of Sussex, a split could work in Harry's favour.
Lizzie Cundy, who used to be friends with Meghan, said: "I think it will be a lot better for Harry.
"If he does come back here [to the UK] he would be welcomed with open arms."
The news of a possible split came to light after a report emerged that the couple are "taking time apart".

Despite one source telling Page Six that rumours of a split are "not true", Ms Cundy has said that a separation could be "the best thing" for the Duke of Sussex.
Speaking to the Mirror, Ms Cundy said: "Don't forget it was our most popular royal once upon a time and the people who would welcome him with open arms, I really think it will be the best thing for Harry.
"Of course, it's going to be very sad and it's sad for the children. But it's time for Harry to come home."
Ms Cundy, who then added her thoughts about her former friend, said: "I do believe Meghan thought it was all about diamonds, jewels, tiaras and being the star of the show but it's not about that being a royal and Princess Kate was always going to be the top dog!"

Harry and Meghan's 'month from hell' amid 'cancelled party, split rumours and club ban'
Prince Harry and Meghan have been hit by claims their marriage is on the brink amid the strain caused by their cancelled Spotify deal. Rumours started circulating on gossip sites but the Prince's inner circle denied the claims.
Here Express.co.uk takes a look at all the challenging hurdles the pair have been forced to face.
Ms Cundy, who met Meghan in 2013, continued: "I don't want to see any couples split up when any marriage falls apart, it's sad, especially when you have children.
"We could all see the writing was on the wall, it's very different when you're a celebrity princess then a royal princess and frankly Meghan just wasn't up for the job."
She claimed that Meghan wasn't up for the work involved in being a royal, adding: "She didn't want to put the hard work in opening hospitals and doing all the roles that royals do.
"It's not easy, it's not glamorous, it's not like on the red carpet."

Speaking about a potential split, Ms Cundy added: "I think it will be, in some respects, better for Harry.
"We've got to look at it from Harry's side, he's in California now, he's got none of his friends.
"He's got no family, he's got a rift with his father and his brother, it must be very lonely at times."
Less than two years after their wedding, Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020.
The pair moved out of the UK just a few weeks later, setting up a new life in California with their two children, Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.
