COPS have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after an elderly woman died following an attack in a cemetery.

       The 71-year-old was attacked in Crofton Cemetery at Lychgate Green, in Stubbington, Hampshire just before 4pm yesterday.

       She was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.

       A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "A scene will remain on at the cemetery while officers carry out enquiries.

       "A 66-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at this time.
