KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd said it is expecting a muted performance over the coming term as the macroeconomic environment remains challenging for the semiconductor services provider.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group posted a net profit of RM23.93mil in the second quarter ended June 30, 2023, which was a fraction of RM205.86mil posted in the previous corresponding quarter.
The group's earning per share was 1.48 sen compared to 12.76 sen previously.
It reported revenue during the quarter under review slumped 18.4% to RM378.66mil as low market demand led to reduced sales volume.
For the quarter, the group declared a second interim dividend of two sen per share, going ex on Aug 11, 2023, and payable on Aug 25, 2023.
Over a six-month period, Unisem's net profit was RM33.79mil on the back of revenue of RM732.71mil as compared to net profit of RM256.55mil and revenue of RM888.51mil in the same period in 2022.
