King Charles is aware of Prince Harry’s capabilities and is likely to think ‘what a waste’ after watching the Duke’s latest documentary Heart of Invictus, claims a royal expert.
The five-part series was released on Wednesday morning on Netflix.
Speaking about the King’s reaction to the series, Royal biographer Robert Jobson told The Royal Beat that he would “absolutely be proud” of what his son is doing.
He added: “Now what I think the King must be feeling is ‘what a waste!’... It’s great that he is doing these things but [the King] would probably like him to have stayed in an organisation like the army or the armed forced.
“I just think that if he’d been supported in that way, he would be doing so many things for the Royal Family now that he would have probably enjoyed.

“He hates the idea that he is not Captain General of the Royal Marines… and he hates the fact that he’s lost all these positions.
“If he’d been in the Royal Family, and not gone down this path, I think he’d have been hugely beneficial to the country, and he could have done even more.”
The experts were speaking at this week’s edition of True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat which will be available from 1 September on True Royalty TV.

Vanity Fair Royal Editor Katie Nicholl added: “I would say that the [Invictus] community is probably closer to him than his own family; certainly at the moment.
“And he is passionate about it. So I think to be using that platform of Netflix to bring attention onto a community that he’s inspired, he’s given hope to - he really has changed lives with it - I think that’s what Prince Harry should be doing.
“So I am all for it. I think it’s beautifully shot; it’s really moving and [...] it tells a really, really important story.”

It is believed that Prince Harry might not meet other members of the Royal Family during a UK stopover on the way to the Invictus Games.
Mr Jobson continued: “I do see that conversations with the King [may happen] eventually, because a father will forgive most things and he will love them equally.
“But with regards to the brothers, I think it’s going to be very difficult.”
The new series hits queues before the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, which will run from September. 9 to 16.
