       The King and Queen Camilla are expected to watch Desert Hero in the St Leger on September 16.

       The decision to attend will see the monarch is the footsteps of his late mother, who died one year ago this Friday.

       The late Queen's love for the sport was undeniable, with her attending various horse racing events throughout her 70-year reign.

       Despite the late Queen's frequent appearance, and now the King's, it is rare for a monarch to appear at the event as it is outside of Newbury, Ascot and Epsom.

       The King has never appeared to be a massive fan of the sport, like his mother was, but he was clearly moved by the way Desert Hero won at this year's Royal Ascot.

       The royal couple's likely appearance will also be boost for Doncaster, as well as racing in general.

       Despite speculation over their attendance, their appearance has not been officially confirmed by the Palace.

       The couple's appearance will likely be confirmed closer to the time.

       A few days after the racing event in Doncaster, the King and Camilla will be visiting France.

       During September 20 and 23, the couple will be undertake the visit, which will celebrate the UK's relationship with France.

       The state visit will highlight the strength of the UK's bilateral relationship with France, demonstrating the ways in which the two are working together.

       According to the official Royal Family website, the couple will be undertaking engagements in Paris and Bordeaux.

       This Friday, September 8, marks one year since the late Queen's death at Balmoral.

       With the Prince and Princess of Wales set to lead tributes, the King will mark the day privately at Balmoral.

       Although William and Kate will be leading tributes to the late monarch, it still remains unknown how they will do this.

       The rest of the royals are expected to mark the day in their own personal ways.
