A PEST expert has revealed the 50p kids toy from B&M that will banish deadly spiders from your home.

Spiders usually start to come indoors in September, and sightings in your home may become more and more regular.

Millions of the eight-legged invaders are coming into our homes searching for a mate so that the females can lay eggs before hibernating.

But there is one interesting way to keep the pesky creepy crawlies away, according to experts.

Spiders taste with their feet, and they don't like the taste of chalk.

Drawing a line of chalk around your bed, along window frames and near doorways will create a no-spider zone which they will not want to cross.

And chalk could not come cheaper, flying off the shelves for just 50p a piece from B&M as well as other outlets.

Although most spiders in the UK are harmless, the false widow is poisonous.

The same size as a 50p piece, false widows were virtually unknown in Britain 25 years ago.

Their bites can cause severe welling and discomfort in the most serious cases.

Pest control expert Clive Boase said: "The population of false widows in the UK is growing all the time.

"In fact, people don't realise just how common they have become.

"There are half-a-dozen different species of the false widow and they can survive both indoors and outdoors.

"They love conservatories and toilet blocks, window frames, porches, lofts and garages and they like to live beneath kitchen appliances and cupboards.

"They are generally shy creatures and won't come out into the open, but they could crawl into curtains or perhaps clothing left on the floor.

"They certainly can give a painful bite, though there have been very few reports of that happening as they will only do so as a last resort.

"Bites usually result from handling the spider roughly or perhaps having it trapped between clothing and skin."

It comes after another pest expert shared their handy tips on how to stop ants from attacking your home and laying eggs.
