Meghan Markle faced backlash after being late in joining Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Germany.

The Duchess of Sussex arrived in Düsseldorf - the host city for this year's Games - on Tuesday afternoon and apologised for the four-day delay citing her desire to spend more time with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in a two-minute speech.

But broadcaster Andrew Pierce criticised her for making it "all about her".

He wrote on MailOnline: "[Meghan] turned up finally yesterday [Tuesday] even though the games opened on Saturday and guess what she did, she made a speech.

"Guess what the speech was about, her favourite subject, Meghan Markle."

The TV presenter claimed Meghan made very little mention of the Invictus Games, servicemen and women, but still managed to "eclipse" and "overshadow" Prince Harry.

He said: "All about drawing attention to her, Meghan Markle, the former actress, the beautiful princess, the duchess - all about her, very little mention of the Invictus Games, servicemen and women.

"Yet again, she is eclipsing and overshadowing Prince Harry - why does he put up with it?

"Good luck with the Invictus Games Prince Harry, I hope they go well, I really do, they are a great cause. But your wife, as ever, is doing nothing to promote you or the games."

During her speech on Tuesday, Meghan explained she had to get her children "settled down" before she could fly out, particularly Prince Archie as he had to be dropped off at school.

The Duchess said: "Hi everybody, it is so special to be here and I'm sorry that I was a little late to the party.

"Like so many of you, you know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created and Fisher House has created, and so I had to spend a little bit more time getting the little ones settled at home.

"Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you. It is amazing and I hear it has got off to a good start so far."

Prince William and Kate search for CEO and stipulate candidates must have 'low-ego'

The Prince and Princess of Wales are hiring a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to support the pair's long-term strategy and run their household, which is comprised of about 60 members of staff.

The "unique opportunity" will see the successful candidate report directly to William and Kate - as the pair stipulate that the right person for the job must have a "low ego".

In an apparent hint that Kensington Palace is already home to some head-strong characters, the job advertisement says those applying must be "emotionally intelligent, with 'low ego', and strong self-awareness and understanding of their impact on others".

Anyone wanting the job must be "able to operate as a 'servant' leader, empowering the senior team", it adds.

Meghan Markle tipped to write her own tell-all memoir - and it will be 'money-spinner'

Meghan Markle has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Prince Harry after a royal expert and author claimed she is "writing her memoirs and it will be a huge money-spinner."

Prince Harry released his much-anticipated tell-all memoir Spare on January 10, 2023 - exactly four weeks after he and Meghan Markle starred in their own six-part documentary series on Netflix.

Spare quickly smashed sales records in the UK, US, and Canada on its first day of sale - despite being leaked five days early in Spain.

But Harry received a furious backlash for the memoir from many for making several more claims against the Royal Family - with the likes of King Charles III, Prince William, Princess Kate and Queen Camilla in the firing line.

Now royal expert Tom Bower, who penned 'Revenge: Meghan and Harry and the war between the Windsors', has suggested she may make a shock new career move.

Princess Eugenie enjoys holiday with pals in Kenya without husband Jack and sons

Princess Eugenie was recently snapped enjoying a luxurious beach getaway to Kenya with pals, leaving her husband Jack Brooksbank and their two young sons at home as she enjoyed some rest and relaxation.

Eugenie and Jack, who tied the knot in October 2018, are parents to August, two and baby Ernest, who arrived in May this year.

The 33-year-old was pictured with German influencer and model Caroline Daur, who shared holiday photos on Lamu Island on her Instagram page.

The small town they visited on the island, also named Lamu, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, making it the perfect tranquil beach destination for the Princess - who is 11th in line to the throne.
