A FURIOUS mum has hit out at her daughter’s school after it banned her from wearing Vivienne Westwood shoes.
The mum, who has a daughter and a stepdaughter at the Wolfreton School in Willerby, East Riding, Yorkshire, has said the school is being “hypocritical” due to its “ridiculous rules” on branded shoes.

The children, in year 11 and year 7, both started school this week wearing Vivienne Westwood black pumps.
Kelly’s eldest daughter has attended school wearing this brand of shoes since year 7 and says they’ve “never had a problem” in the past.
However, the school brought in new rules at the start of the summer break, saying shoes should now be unbranded, including popular makes like the black Nike Air Force 1 style.
On the first day back at school this week, both kids got a letter threatening them with detention if they didn’t have the new school shoes by Monday.

Kelly told Hull Live: "It is just ridiculous - the Vivienne Westwood shoes are just plain black shoes, they're comfortable and they're good quality so they last a long time. I know schools want kids to dress smartly but I would consider these shoes smart.
"My son attends a different school and wears unbranded shoes and I have to replace them every three to four months because the quality just isn't the same. On top of this, branded coats and bags are allowed.
"Why does my daughter in branded shoes but a Primark bag and coat deserve to be punished, but other kids can walk around with designer bags and coats but unbranded shoes? It's hypocritical.”
According to the mum, pupils were lined up this week for a uniform inspection and an assembly on uniform is said to have been scheduled.

Kelly called the move as a “huge waste of learning time,” adding she wasn’t sure how which brand of shoes affected their ability to learn.
She added the school’s focus should be on “bullying, smoking and trouble causing”.
The mum said it wasn’t fair on the children to go into detention because their parents might not be able to afford or have the time to get new shoes by Monday.
Kelly remained defiant, saying: "I have told my children not to go to detention and I am happy to be pulled into meetings because I won't be buying them new shoes."
She said she had considered removing her kids if the situation worsens.
Kelly also claims the school has asked her to reconsider if Wolfreton is the right school for her if she doesn’t agree with its policies.
A spokesperson for Wolfreton School said: “In July, prior to the summer holidays, parents were provided with a clear communication of our expectations with regards to uniform for September.
“Assemblies also took place to remind our students about these expectations.
"As a school, we are keen to work with families and, as such, have asked that any incorrect uniform is rectified by Monday.

Meanwhile, in Gateshead, schoolkid Layla Thomson, 11, was forced to sit on the floor, after wearing similar Vivienne Westwood pumps to class.
