10/10: I love average warmth at this point in September, even with a noticeable breeze. More, please! (Acknowledging we need more rain, too.)
Express forecast
Today: Sunny, breezy. Highs: Mid- to upper 70s. Tonight: Clear, less breezy. Lows: Upper 40s to mid-50s. Tomorrow: Sunny, slight breeze. Highs: Upper 70s to low 80s. Sunday: A few showers. Partly sunny. Highs: Mid-70s to near 80.
Forecast in detail
Comfortable, average warmth through tomorrow as we enjoy the state of fall in D.C. Lots of sun! The only period with clouds and (welcome) rain chances for the foreseeable future seems to be Sunday into Sunday night. Humidity nudge upward a slight bit then, too.

Today (Friday): Northerly breezes may gust near 20 mph a few times as Hurricane Lee makes its closest approach, well out to sea, at our latitude. Skies should have nearly-complete sun the entire day as high temperatures top out in the mid- to upper 70s. Confidence: High

Tonight: Clear and starry skies. Light north-northwest breezes calm down a bit from their daytime levels. Low temperatures bottom out in the dry, crisp air within the upper 40s to mid-50s (downtown) range. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Saturday): A little warmer with high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. Sunshine continues to dominate. Dew points in the 40s are on the dry end — almost autumnally crisp. Any static shocks or moisturizer usage started, yet? Northwesterly breezes may merely gust to around 15 mph. Confidence: Medium-High
Tomorrow night: A few high clouds build in, especially after midnight. Northerly breezes calm, almost fully. Low temperatures bottom out in the 50s throughout the region (maybe 60 degrees downtown). Confidence: Medium-High

Sunday: As a Midwest low-pressure area approaches us, some clouds and showers become possible. Nothing too heavy as it looks now, but a couple moderate, quick showers or storms can’t be ruled out — especially midday and into the afternoon. The partial cloud cover at times helps to cap temperatures in the mid-70s to near 80 degrees. Dew points rising back toward 60 degrees means a tinge of humidity again. Confidence: Medium
A look ahead
Sunday night: Showers, storms, and even a downpour could remain possible into the late night. Somewhat humid low temperatures may only get down into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Confidence: Medium
Fair weather tries to reestablish itself Monday and Tuesday, with comfortable upper 70s to low 80s common. Sunshine generally dominates outside a couple showers — maybe a pop-up afternoon thundershower — possible on Monday. Confidence: Medium
