       Rain chances remain near zero the next several days as highs climb well into the 70s and probably even into the 80s. We could flirt with some record highs late this week and into the weekend. Temperatures probably tumble back to near or below normal next week, when normal highs across the region dip to the mid- and low 60s. The cool-down arrives just in time for Halloween.

The afternoon is a winner with partly to mostly sunny skies, temperatures topping out in the mid- to upper 70s and a light wind from the south.        Now we might be getting too warm for some people’s liking Friday and Saturday. Both days should be partly to mostly sunny with Friday highs in the upper 70s to low 80s (Washington’s record high for the date is 83) and Saturday highs in the low to mid-80s (Washington’s record high for the date is 87).
