PMQs: Sunak and Starmer discuss the Greek Prime Minister
Sir Keir Starmer clearly hoped that Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs) today would be the latest chapter in a classic Greek tragedy the beleaguered Rishi Sunak seems to be enduring.
Instead, it was the Labour leader who was left looking like the figure of fun in a political comedy as the Prime Minister brutally exposed his EU-first approach to politics.
It all started with an Elgin Marbles pun - there were unfortunately a number of them - from Starmer talking about "ancient relics which only a small minority of people care about," adding: "But enough about the Tory Party!"
That was about as good as it got for him as a deft Sunak went about dismantling his foreign policy.
Having missed the mark with his first question on immigration figures (barn doors are safe with Starmer around), the Labour leader went into Sunak's decision to snub the Greek Prime Minister earlier this week.

"Has he lost his marbles?" the Labour leader bellowed across the Despatch Box.
But the answer came back swift.
Sunak had no truck with "grandstanding" foreign leaders who asked to meet about what thing but in truth wanted to air ancient grievances and go back on previous agreements.
He said he cancelled "when it was clear that the purpose of the meeting was not to discuss substantive issues but to grandstand about issues of the past."
Sunak went further saying the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had made commitments about the meeting and broken them.
"I think when you make commitments you should keep them," the Prime Minister pointedly added.

But Sunak was just warming up.
"He backs the EU every time!" he blasted.
In a performance which harked back to his early days as Prime Minister, he finally had his warring MPs united as one cheering him along as he dealt blow after blow on the Labour leader.
He reminded Starmer that he had "a secret deal with the EU" to take an extra 150,000 migrants into the UK.
Sunak suggested that Starmer's decision to go ahead with the meeting with the Greek Prime Minister was typical of the way he "put the EU's interests over Britain's."
Starmer looked a little offended and even resorted to a new Greek joke about the "reverse Midas touch" suggesting everything Sunak touched "turned to...well maybe the Home Secretary can help" (in reference to James Cleverly's alleged use of the word sh** last week).
But whatever he had to throw at Sunak, Starmer had done for the Prime Minister what he had been vainly hoping to do himself for months, which was to at least briefly unite the Tory MPs behind him.

Who would have believed that some good red-meat politics about being pro-Britain, pro-Brexit and anti-EU would rally the troops?
Well probably almost everyone outside Downing Street.
It is possible that Mr Sunak will have seen a clear strategy out of his own party turmoil and polling mess from the response to PMQs today.
