       Retired justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who died Friday in Arizona at age 93, will lie in repose in the Great Hall of the Supreme Court on Dec. 18, a court spokeswoman said Tuesday.

       There will be a private ceremony at the court at 9:30 a.m. for O’Connor, the first woman to serve on the high court. The public is invited to pay respects from 10:30 a.m. until 8 p.m., according to the court’s public information officer, Patricia McCabe.

       There will be an invitation-only funeral for O’Connor on Dec. 19 at Washington National Cathedral. Burial plans were not disclosed.
