Superintendent's statement amid 'probe into transgender athlete'
Conservative MPs on the right are preparing to open a new front in the civil war with Rishi Sunak as it emerged that the Government could be planning to allow children to self-ID as the opposite sex or animals at school.
Stoke North MP Jonathan Gullis, a leading member of the New Conservatives and former school standards minister, has requested an urgent question for the last day of Parliament on guidance set to be published for schools on the trans debate.
Mr Gullis said: “We must be on the side of parents, and kick this dangerous gender ideology out of our schools.
“If the Government really has given in to the woke mob, parents won’t forgive us. The Conservatives have always been the party of the family and proud of it.”
It comes amid growing speculation that the guidance will allow children to self-identify as a different gender or even as a non-human.
The guidance could mean that the child who self-identified as a cat in the summer could have to be accepted by the school.
It comes despite tough language from Women's and Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch, who recently laid down tougher new guidelines on adults transitioning.

According to sources, Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has been pushing for more liberal guidelines allowing self-identification.
Sources have suggested that the guidelines will be published tomorrow after MPs can ask questions about them and following months of delay.
It is being claimed that they will protect teachers from being forced to use a child's "preferred pronouns" but will not ban them from using them either.
The Government is also set to not amend the Equalities Act, as demanded by many on the right of the party.
It is understood parents will have to be told if their child decides to transition to a different gender which will please some Tory MPs on the right.

One senior Tory MP who had seen various drafts of the guidelines said: "The problem is that 'exceptional circumstances' is written into them. What happens is every case of self-ID becomes an exceptional circumstance."
Another Tory MP asked: "Why does Sunak want to pick another fight with the right after Rwanda?"
The Prime Minister is already facing demands for a leadership vote of confidence after his reshuffle which saw rightwing MPs such as Suella Braverman removed from his government.
He is also facing a New Year rebellion by the right over his Rwanda Bill.

The MP said: "The thing is in private Sunak is big on the family and very anti-woke. He should be willing to pick a fight with the courts on this and tell his Education Secretary to like it or lump it."
Another added: "If the guidelines are not tough and don't stop this trans nonsense there will be a lot of unhappiness in the party.
"It will make a Nigel Farage comeback all the easier and deny us of a clear battleground with Labour."
